During the meeting, Oscar Cantillo, a public official from the city of Valledupar, stated, “We are currently working on the project in cooperation with local economic and artistic communities, aiming to unveil the Peace Monument on October 29.” The construction of the Peace Monument is a symbolic peace initiative in South America jointly promoted by IWPG and Valledupar City.
Regarding the hosting of the "International Women’s Peace Conference," Beatriz Solano from the La Paz campus of the National University of Colombia stated, “We plan to provide our Bogota campus as the venue for the event, and the specific schedule will be arranged through ongoing consultations.”
IWPG Global Region 2 plans to invite key Colombian figures to the September 18th World Peace Summit in Korea. Director Seoyeon Lee said, “The invitees include Jose Luis Uruan, President of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce, Jose Romero, Vice President for Peace and Human Rights, and leaders of women’s organizations. We hope this summit will serve as a stepping stone for expanding international peace exchange with Colombia.”

Beginning with the construction of the Peace Monument, IWPG aims to expand its international exchanges through the September 18 summit and women’s peace education programs, building a foundation for peace culture throughout Colombia and the wider South American region.
